How lawn care pricing works

Price the visit, not the neighborhood average

Lawn size, slope, fences, obstacles, bagging and overgrown grass change minutes. Minutes times labor, plus travel, fuel, disposal and overhead, is the job cost. Margin sits on top of that.

ProfitPriced starts with routine mowing — not hardscaping, trees or full landscaping — so the number you get is for the job you actually do every week.

Weekly, biweekly and one-time are different products

Weekly turf is shorter and faster. Biweekly grass takes longer. A one-time or overgrown property can be a different visit entirely. The calculator shows those side by side so you can talk about a weekly program instead of arguing over a one-off number.

Travel and disposal

Drive time and miles belong in the price. So does dumping if you bag. If those are “included,” they are still coming out of your pocket.

Margin vs. markup

A $50 visit with $40 of cost is not a 20% margin if you forgot fuel and the truck. Build the cost first, then choose a margin. If a homeowner wants $40, check the what-if box before you say yes.

FAQ

Why do you only price mowing?

Because fertilization, aeration, mulch and tree work are different businesses. The MVP is a tight lawn-visit calculator, not a landscaping suite.

Can I edit the minutes?

Yes. Size and difficulty produce an estimate. Your crew’s actual pace should win.
